Chapter 1: Study Abroad So Soon?
Wow, time really flies. Last time I looked at a calendar, I swore it was early May. Alas, it's not and I'm just three days away from flying away to Spain... Three days! (yikes)
This past week was spent finishing up my internship at Spybar Chicago, preparing for and taking final exams, moving out of my apartment, going back home to Milwaukee to say goodbye to my family (but really just my cat) and trying to get myself prepared for my first time abroad. It's been hectic to say the least, but with finals out of the way I'm feeling a little bit better about preparing for my trip (a.k.a. I've had a lot more time to peruse Pinterest).
From my time on Pinterest, I found a lot of really handy blogs and boards that were geared just towards preparing yourself to study abroad - which was godsend in my frazzled state. A bunch of them had posts about things they wished they brought with them, things they wish they knew, and places you just have to visit. I looked through some, but as you all know - Pinterest is a bottomless hole, so I was never able to find the end. I definitely am going to pack too much stuff for this trip, but that's nothing new...
Although I'm really nervous for my first time in Europe and the extremely long flight that comes with it - I'm very excited and grateful for this experience! I've been wanted to experience Spanish culture for real ever since high school (shout out to Senora Lentz), but now it's actually happening. It seems unreal and it snuck up on me big time..
I'll be updating this blog often, so please go on this journey with me! :)
